"Large pharmaceutical companies spend about one-third of their revenue on sales and marketing, much of it aimed at doctors. The resulting entanglements between the companies and doctors have become
widespread. Studies cited in the British Medical Journal have found that the relationships influence doctors' prescribing behaviour."
Andrea Gerlin, Bloomberg News 2007

At PharmAware, we are getting increasingly concerned about EU proposals which  would allow pharmaceutical companies to give "information to patients" directly. Read more on our campaigns page. We encourage you to write to your MPs/MEPs (find out who they are at www.writetothem.com). Feel free to use our template letter as a guide.

PharmAware recently had our 3rd AGM in Bristol. We had fascinating sessions by Dr Gareth Williams (University of Bristol), Dr Damien Downing (Alliance for Natural Health), Dr Rory O’Connor (University of Leeds) and Rory James (Oxfam campaigns).

We also had a very successful meeting with the start of three new branches and discussed our future campaigns. Big congratulations to the Bristol team for coordinating such a successful event.
